What do Maurizio Seracini, Snow White, and The New Yorker have in common?
The answer lies within Syracuse University in Florence’s promise
to provide students, faculty and the host community with stimulating lectures,
special events and art exhibitions. Maurizio Seracini, an art
‘diagnostician’/detective, is just one of the many high-profile
lecturers that SUF sponsors every semes ter. Operas such as Where the Wild
things Are and Snow White are events that encourage interactive learning
and engagement with the community. SUF Art Gallery exhibitions, such as
American Satire: Humor in The New Yorker, depict the relationship between
American and European cultures, and are a perfect example of intercultural
exchange through exhibitions of art. Academics and community outreach at
SUF take on many forms, in diverse locations, and encourage intellectual
growth.
