Figure Drawing (255/256)

This course is designed for students wishing to learn or improve the basic techniques of figure drawing. Students are introduced to the fundamental principles and elements of drawing as well as major techniques and media. These include: gesture, measurement and proportion, cross- referencing, tone, contour, composition, mark-making and texture, with media being pencil, charcoal, and ink. An important aspect of the course is learning from the rich cultural heritage of Florence. As a result, lessons are conducted both in the classroom with models as well as on site researching and sketching from various museums and churches in Florence.
