Intermediate Photography
(APH 243)
This course is structured around the use of Adobe Photoshop software blending
traditional approaches with innovative practices. A special emphasis of
the course is on printing and final presentation. Along with technical
information, the course discusses the aesthetic and ethical implications
in Digital Photography. A focus of the class is the work of photographers,
discussing their uses and interpretations of the medium, and making links
to contemporary art. Ongoing studio assignments broaden students' approach
and practice while group and one-on-one critiques further the development
of individual work. Lectures are supported by DVD projections, artist websites,
visiting artists and field studies to galleries and museums.
