Intermediate Sculpture
(SCU 395/396)
The main objective of this course is to give students further information
on the issues and problems of sculpture working in clay and plaster. The
first part of the semester will focus on technical concerns. Students will
work with a live model to understand how to construct a three-dimensional
image through the process of observation. In the second part of the semester
students will work on individual projects from drawings and maquettes where
a conceptual approach will become more important. Individual projects will
be presented in a show at the end of the semester. Students who excel will
be allowed to work in other materials so that they can develop a more sophisticated
expression.
