SUF believes that living with a host family is a vital part of learning
about Italian culture but we realize that due to long studio hours and
an intense field studies course, most Architecture and Pre-Architecture
students prefer to live in apartments.
Selecting and Assigning Apartments
Apartments are booked in advance by our Housing Office and assigned to
students after carefully examining their Housing Preference Forms. SUF
tries to meet student requests as much as possible (program, smokers/nonsmokers
and roommate requests), keeping in mind also specific program requirements
such as proximity to studios for architecture students. Apartments somewhat
further from the campus are assigned to students with lighter schedule
requirements (Pre-Architecture and studio art), and are located near public
transportation.
Furnished Apartments
All apartments are fully furnished including bedding, and are equipped
with basic utilities such as washing machines and kitchen utensils. Apartments
do not have phone lines. We recommend that students rent or purchase cell
phones.
