Host Family and Student Weekend Get-aways

Each semester, SUF Housing Assistant Roberta Mugelli organizes a trip designed to bring together students and Italian hosts in a special weekend get-away. All the organized trips include travel (by train, bus, and sometimes boat), lodging, guided tours (except Ischia), group dinners, and free time for individual exploration. The group consists of a maximum of fifty participants. A weekend away from the normal routine of everyday activities is a great way for host families and students to get to know each other in a different environment.

Note: The cost of these trips is not included in your housing fee.

Past Itineraries:

Ischia - Visit the natural thermal baths and tour the island of Ischia.
Amalfi Coast - Guided boat tour with stops at the towns of Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi. Visit of the Emerald Grotto.
Naples - Guided tour of the ancient center of Naples, including the National Archaeological Museum and The Ceramics Museum Capodimonte. Visit to the Archaeological Complex of Pompeii.
Padua - Guided tour of the city center and a boat tour along the river Brenta, including stops at the Palladian villas.
Saturnia/Pitigliano - Visit the ancient tufa towns of Sovana, Sorano and Pitigliano. Take a dip in the thermal baths of Saturnia.
