Worklife at SUF

What is WorkLife?
Syracuse University defines WorkLife as “a consortium of services that allows Syracuse University employees to integrate personal and work needs throughout all life stages. Encompassing the areas of counseling; family care; flexible work; individual growth and development; and wellness; WorkLife strives to strengthen the individual in the work environment.”

WorkLife at SUF
SUF started implementing WorkLife ideas for its staff and faculty in the fall of 2005. We feel that it is important that our employee’s families are involved in the workplace and therefore, our WorkLife ambassador has organized events such as holiday celebrations, Easter egg hunts, and our annual Bring Your Child to Work Day. Cultural and wellness events such as a Desktop Pilates & Yoga Techniques workshop and trips to the local synagogue and a chocolate artisan give staff the opportunity to expand their horizons and learn about the community around them. We recognize that employees working in an international environment have the similar needs and desires as their US-based counterparts to integrate their personal life as well as their culture into their place of work.
