The Writing Center

Students Information
The Writing Center offers one-on-one tutorials to students who need help with their essays. Just send the essay to me as a Word document attached to an e-mail at dlbarret@syr.fi.it. I will read your essay and then meet with you to discuss ways to improve it. A Writing Center tutorial can make the difference between passing and failing; it can also make the difference between a B+ essay and an A. With a little help, you can do your best.

Faculty Information
I am available to come to your classes on request to help students with their essays. When you assign an essay, ask the students to prepare outlines and thesis statements for the class one week before the essay is due. I will then come to the class and discuss the outlines with the students. It will take about forty minutes of class time for a class of sixteen. I am available on Mondays from 9am to 1pm, on Wednesdays from 9am to 1pm, and on Thursdays from 9am to noon and from 5pm to 6pm.
